Hair Gel vs Hair Wax – Which Is Better?

Two products which are used to style hair, but the debate still goes on… Which is better – hair gel or hair wax?

Hair gel is useful for creating volume in certain styles and also for stopping frizz and flattening hair. Wax is perfect for showing off texture and creating spikes in short hair. You can also continue manipulating the hair until you remove the product.

The limitation of gel is that it’s most effective when applying into wet hair, but you have to be weary of too much gel in your hair as it may have a crusty finish. Wax’s limitation is that it should only really be used on dry/slightly damp hair. If you use it on wet hair, it doesn’t really stick meaning it won’t style too well. Removal of both is a simple hair wash.

Overall the easier of the two to use is wax as it means your hair can be styled whilst dry. Although if you have thick hair, then you may have to use hair gel.

 

Finding The Right Product: Men

With over a hundred choices on the high street, purchasing products for your hair can be a minefield. Just because it costs more, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best. If you have fine hair, then using a lighter product like spray or cream may be best suited.
