Becoming a hair stylist is a popular career option for many people. It allows you to be highly creative, meet lots of people and be sociable in your work, as well as the fact there will always be a job for you because hairdressers are always needed.
If you would like to become a stylist, it is a good idea to get some work experience. You will probably start off shampooing people’s hair and helping out with salon admin, perhaps sweeping up hair or answering the phone to book appointments.
You can take a college course to train as a stylist, which is one of the most popular ways of doing it. You can also train as an apprentice in a hair salon, which may be a little more tricky to land as you will have to be chosen by the salon. Whichever method you choose, you will learn life changing skills and can go on to be an excellent stylist.
Lipsticks come in so many different shades, you will have plenty of choice. Choosing a new lipstick shade isn’t as simple as choosing one you like though – you will also need to find one that suits you and achieves the look you want.
If you have a light skin tone, be careful not to buy a lipstick that is too overbearing. This could actually drain you and make you look sallow. Dark lipsticks might work well with darker hair and darker skin tones. Olive skinned people can usually wear darker purple or pink lipsticks in rich shades.
Before you buy a new shade, try it on in the shop. There should be testers available, especially if you are buying from a more expensive brand, where you will also have the opportunity to discuss the range with a salesperson and ask for their advice. They can help match a lipstick shade to your skin tone and existing makeup preferences.
Colouring your hair yourself is never going to be easy. You will be beset with challenges from the very beginning – how do you reach the back? Have you sectioned your hair properly? Have you got an even covering? In short, it is not a great idea to colour your hair yourself. You should get a trained professional to do it in a hair salon.
Book into a salon that is going to be able to do a good colouring job for you. Choose one with a good reputation that is a hair colouring specialist. Book in for a consultation initially, to decide what you would like to have done.
If you do still decide to colour your own hair, make sure that you always do a skin test first. You can become allergic to hair dye at any point, so even if you have coloured your hair before, carry out a patch test.
Are you looking to try out a homemade facial scrub? We recommend making an oatmeal scrub. Nice and simple, plus great for your skin.
All you need to make the scrub, is a tablespoon of oatmeal, three tablespoons of warm water and then wait 10 minutes until the oats are soft.
Before you apply, make sure your face is clean. Then massage your face with the oatmeal mixture for 2 minutes (avoiding the eyes). This will help to exfoliate your skin. After the 2 minutes are up, rinse off with warm water and then cold water straight after. This is recommended, as the cold water will help to close the pores which were open previously.
If you’re suffering from bags/dark circles from under your eyes, then this article may be for you. There are many causes of under-eye bags, be it a lack of sleep, bad habits, allergies or even natural effects of aging. The one thing you can do though, is try different treatments to help combat this.
Soothing your eyes with something cool can help a lot of the time. So we would recommend placing cucumbers over your eyes as they will sooth the area. Make sure to refrigerate beforehand.
Another great item to use are teabags, as they contain tanning which helps ease down the eye-bags. You have to place the teabags in boiling water first and then place them on a plate, allowing them to cool down. Once cool, place over each eye and let them sit for 10 minutes. Your eyes should feel much fresher, whilst also looking rejuvenated.
